I am cramming in a few holidays before we have off for February Break next week. We are celebrating and learning about Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day. I have included my plans for the week in this post and links for some freebies! We are supposed to get hit with more snow tonight. Anyone else over the snow? We will see if we get another snow day or delayed opening.
The Washington and Lincoln Double-Sided Craft activity above was shared with me years ago by a friend and colleague. It was one of the first FREEBIES I ever posted on TpT and my kids still love doing it today! I modified it to become an independent art center. You make anything into an art center, as long as you can write the directions on sentence strips.
I just created a "print and go" style packet for Presidents' Day (click here to check it out). I wanted something simple and concise to teach my students about Presidents' Day.
For math centers this week, we are utilizing my Common Core Valentine's Day Math Centers Pack. Just click the pictures below to check it out.
I just added the center below to the packet. If you have already purchased the packet, please re-download for the update!
Here are my plans for the week. Just click the images to download.
For science, I am just starting a unit on bears. I will continue to update my Bears!!! packet as I make more for my own classroom use. I have already added a bear schema chart to it and a huge close reading set of sheets for Bear Snores On.
For literacy centers this week, I am utilizing my Valentine's Day Writing, Math, and More packet. I have added two more literacy centers to this packet since last year, please re-download for the updates!
I am also using Cheryl Saoud's There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Rose packet for listening center and Deedee Will's Valentine's Day Time Me for a fluency center.
I am giving out these adorable valentines by Rachelle Smith of What the Teacher Wants. They are a free download for "non-food valentines"! Love them! Thank you for sharing. I purchased the pirate eye patches through Amazon.com, but you could probably find them at Party City (don't forget to ask for your teacher discount).
Here are some V-day freebies in from my store:
Enjoy the rest of your week!
